Film & Media
The unique and varied open landscape in and around Dumas, Texas, has become a popular area for film and advertising productions. Our locale has produced documentaries, films, commercials, and reality TV segments. The most recent projects include the filming of the independent film Kreep, locations for a Toyota ad campaign, and Dead Community Guild.
We are a Texas Film Friendly Community through the Texas Film Commission and can provide and help obtain various local and state incentive programs. The economic impact of a production for our community is wonderful. The number of jobs, local revenues and recognition these productions provide justify the assistance that we provide. In addition, having the local knowledge and expertise of our office is invaluable in finding and securing locations, equipment, and even workers. Our local reception to producers has been overwhelming, and they still talk about the hospitality that we have provided!
Dumas EDC can provide local incentives through start-up assistance, office space, discounted lodging, secure equipment storage, and pre-production scouting services. In addition, we can help with the process in obtaining assistance through the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program.
